Triadic Living Room

Have you lately been feeling rather funky and want to try something a tad different with the interior of your living room? Well your in luck as i have found a brilliant example of a retro inspired living room that only contains three simple colours to get an amazing result.

The Triad color schemes are formed by three equally spaced colors on the wheel. An example is red, blue and yellow - spaced with three colors between.

This living area utilizes the use of repetition using the colour yellow and and placing that exact colour throughout the room to create flow, this room also creates a radial balance.  Radial balance occurs when all the elements radiate out from a central point and the visual weight is distributed equally. Radial balance creates a strong focal point in the center of the design. Clock faces and daisies are examples of radial balance.

As you can tell, the furniture in this room is surrounding the coffee table which is in the center.

To create this look:

Firstly we will need to create a colour pallet with your three colours, in this case its,
Blue, Yellow and Red
I found a pallet that contained the shade and tint of the main hue and found that the shades of the colors chosen fit in perfectly with the colour scheme.

You now have a pallet for your space!
You can take this with you to design stores to help you with selecting the pieces in which you will put in your room:

This rug is nearly identical as the one in the picture! This chevron rug brings a bit of funkiness into the design and will complement your chosen furniture.
You can buy this here.

These chairs are not exactly the same as the ones shown in the picture however they will work just as well! The retro look to these mustard yellow chairs will add much more interest into the design .
You can buy these here.

This dark red couch will work well along side your yellow armchairs!

And lastly.

This stunning little coffee table will complete the retro look of this design and be your center piece of the room.

Analogous And Rhythm

This Analogous colour scheme creates a warm and energetic environment as it incorporates the cheerfulness of yellow and the fieriness of red, however this versatile hue is still soft and subtle and would be great in a lounge or dining area. When using the analogous colour scheme, one should make sure there is one hue as the main colour.

This image utilizes the use of rhythm, using the repetition of a colour to impart a sense of flow throughout a room or an entire living space, to lead the eye from one element of design to another. As you can see in the picture above the colours used are Orange-Yellow, Orange and Red-Orange. You can establish a rhythm by using a colour in the cushions, picking it up in a painting, then echoing it again in a rug.

Get this look:

The first thing to do is to sound out your colour wheel, this colour scheme uses colours that are adjacent to eachother on the colour wheel.

The next thing you will need to do to get your desired look is to:

Pick your chosen Analogous colour pallet, in this case its Orange-Red,Orange and Yellow-Orange.

You now have a pallet for your space.

You can take this with you to design stores to help you with selecting the pieces in which you will put in your room:

You need to be careful when choosing your furniture. You will notice that this chairs hue is too dark for your colour scheme. A good idea is to put it against your colour pallet to see if it matches your chosen colours.

Yay! This is more like it, as you can tell the orange relates to your colour scheme much more then the chair above. You can purchase this from here.

This cushion is quite different to the one that's in the picture however the patterns in this would work just as well and lovely with the rest of the interior in the room. The zig zag will add a bit more interest to the look. You can purchase this from here

And for your final touch.

A stunning orange pendent like this one here will complete the look of your beautiful space, the shape is fun and unique and will work in just perfect with the colour scheme! You can get this from here

And lastly

Have fun while you design!
